Call us crazy or maybe the Griswold's but we had an exciting Christmas vacation! We left 4 days before Christmas for a trip in the trailer- to the Grand Canyon!
Day 1: Kingman, AZ
Day 2: Grand Canyon Campground
yes- there was a foot of snow!
so we bought sleds and had a great time!
of course we checked out the canyon a little too- cloudy, but still amazing!
cold kids waiting for the shuttle bus…….
the trailer had ice sickles,
but at least the beer was cold! This is Jason’s idea of Roadside Assistance. ;)
Day 3: Grand Canyon, with even more snow! Several inches of snow fell over night, but skies were blue! A great day to take in the canyon views!
too much Christmas Story for Nick- he had to find out if his tongue stuck to the medal- I don’t think that he thought about what we would do if it did!
We also saw some wildlife….
lots of deer, and huge bucks! That really ugly pig was right by the trailer and a few yards from the kids!
Lots of “firsts” for the kids- like shoveling snow! Nick proving he never gets cold, the kid is like a little heater! This changed his mind a little……
Day 4: Christmas Eve, We had a great time at the Grand Canyon, but hit the road again. This time we headed for a hotel, a hot shower and a real bed. We were lucky. Santa managed to find us, even after all the traveling!
Day 5: final destination, Pahrump. We stayed a couple nights at Lakeside RV Park, the kids had a great time paddle boating and fishing with their new fishing poles from Uncle Chad. It was great to have Grandma Judy and Grandpa Andy stop by! From there we went to Grandma Elaine and Grandpa Larry’s and had a great visit!
