Campions!

Carli and her friend Kendall won our school science fair. They tested sunscreens to see if a higher SPF really protected better. Their conclusion was no- in each of the trials the SPF 40 was better than the 30 and 50! Apparently active ingredients are most important!

Now they are off the the District Fair this week! Good Luck!

Snow Days!

We always have this week in Feburary off, and for several years we have camped at the beach. It has been hit and miss, we have years of all rain and years of great weather and you never know when you have to make reservations 7 months ahead of time! So the plan was to leave Saturday, but the weather reports said it was going to be "the biggest storm of the winter!" Made us a little nervous about being right on the beach~ so we chickened out!
Our unexpected change of plans could not have been more fun! Instead of camping in our trailers next door to the Van Zee's we rented cabins next door to each other in Idyllwild. If it was going to be the "biggest storm of the winter" we were at least going to be some where we could enjoy it, and we did.
It was absolutely beautiful to be up there while it was snowing. It started when we got there and snowed the whole next day too. The kids had a great time sledding, and playing in the snow. Walking right out the door to play in the snow was new to them!
Many of you are reading this thinking that we are CRAZY! Driving to the snow to relax when you are dealing with it everyday and so sick of it! But it was wonderful and now we are glad to be at home where it is going to be 70 today!

Pressure

Remember this? It will be 2 years this April since Jason completed the Ironman! It was a huge accomplishment, and we are all so proud of him--but-- he keeps talking about doing another Triathlon. I am posting this to put a little (or a lot) of PRESSURE on him! Come on- just do it!

Volleyball

Amber's volleyball team is doing great, and we all have so much fun at tournaments. It is not easy for us to get up at 4:30 am on a Sunday to travel to a tournament but we all have a great time once we are there. It is a great group of girls, coaches, and families. Amber is young on the team but doing well, she has a great serve!
